Lido Beach: A Visitor's Guide

By Carson B. · Updated November 6, 2026

Lido Key has three beach areas. Lido Beach at 400 Benjamin Franklin Drive is the central one, with parking, a concession, and lifeguards. North Lido is the quiet walk, and South Lido, at Ted Sperling Park, has trails and water on both sides. St. Armands Circle is minutes away.

Central Lido Beach

This is the easy pick: a wide Gulf beach with a parking lot right next to the sand. The county's listing shows a concession, a pool, and lifeguards. One report has said the pool is closed until further notice, so check with the county or city if the pool is the plan.

North Lido

If you want quiet, walk north. North Lido has a small parking area and much less going on. Lifeguard coverage is limited or absent depending on the source, so don't assume there's one on duty.

South Lido

Ted Sperling Park sits at the southern tip of the key, with beach access, trails, and water on both the bay and Gulf sides.

Questions

Is parking free at Lido Beach?

Local guides describe free parking in the lot next to the beach. Check the signs, since rules can change.

Is the Lido Beach pool open?

We've seen conflicting reports, so confirm with the county or the City of Sarasota before you go.

Is Lido Beach or Siesta Beach better?

Siesta has the famous quartz sand. Lido is calmer and pairs easily with St. Armands Circle.
