By Carson B. · Updated November 6, 2026

Mote SEA is at 225 University Town Center Drive, at Nathan Benderson Park, open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Book timed tickets online ahead of time, because it often sells out on weekends, holidays, and in spring. Parking is free, and you'll want 1.5 to 3 hours.

Tickets and timing

Entry is timed and limited, and walk-up tickets aren't guaranteed. You can buy up to three months ahead and reschedule up to an hour before your visit. Mote recommends arriving by 3:30 p.m. to get a full visit, and there's no re-entry once you leave.

Things to Do

What you'll see

Exhibits run through Florida's Gulf Coast, Florida Waters, and the Indo-Pacific. The animals to look for include Buffett the manatee and the Humboldt penguins. The building also houses working teaching labs, because Mote is a research lab at heart.

Parking and getting there

It's just off I-75 near the Mall at University Town Center. Free parking is in several lots on the west side of the property, and the drop-off loop at the entrance has a five-minute limit.

Accessibility

Mote offers free manual wheelchairs on a first-come basis, sensory-friendly backpacks, an audio tour, and a private nursing space. Service dogs are welcome, but pets aren't.

Make a day of it
