Comptoir: The Counter Café

French-born chef Gregory Desvenain and co-owner Cemantha Crain run this all-day café in Indian Beach Plaza at 2805 N. Tamiami Trail, across from Ringling College. The counter turns out kouign-amann, crêpes, quiches, and croque monsieur with espresso drinks, plus a rotating European wine list and take-home dinners like duck confit, beef Burgundy, and blanquette de veau. Open daily, 7:30 am–5:30 pm.
